Marina Karate Club members return to the "roots" of the MKC for the Venice Buddhist Temple's 1997 Obon Odori festival! George Lawless, Elyse Oishi and guests are pictured joining in and enjoying some traditional Japanese Folk Dances.

Other MKC members also present to take part in the dancing, games of skill, and good food (Chicken Teriyaki, Udon, Okinawa Dango, Chili & Rice, Hot Dogs, Corn on the Cob, Sushi and Shave Ice to name some!) were Jonathan Bates, Nobuyo Kushi and son Adam Prewett, Dr. Frank Nakano and son Bastian, Chris Sukimoto and son Jack, John Heyl and daughter Karyn.

Every year Sensei Gene says that the entire club should take time to learn the Japanese Folk Dances and join the community groups in having a wonderful time at this event! Next year for sure!
