Dear Instructors,

We invite you and your students to join us in our 10th ANNUAL SAN DIEGO INTERNATIONAL GOODWILL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS which will be held on Sunday, June 13, 1999 at THE GYMNASIUM, of one of San Diego newest high schools, EASTLAKE HIGH SCHOOL.

With various countries participating, we expect it to be one of the best tournaments for the year of 1999. We are planning well ahead to have a safe, fair, and friendly international goodwill tournament.

Beautiful 6,3 & 2 FOOT trophies AND MEDALS WILL BE AWARDED IN ALL KIDS AND ADULTS DIVISIONS, ALSO TOP 8 PLACES FOR KIDS RECEIVE MEDALS,BEST DOJO AWARD (selected from most wins) WILL BE GIVEN. $1,000.00 CASH FOR MOST OUTSTANDING ADULT, $ 500.00 CASH FOR MOST OUTSTANDING CHILD WILL BE AWARDED.

WE NEED FOR YOU TO SEND US, A PASSPORT SIZE PICTURE OF YOU AND A PICTURE OF YOUR TEAM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, IT WILL BE INCLUDED IN OUR BROCHURE, WHICH WILL BE PUBLISHED SOON AND WILL BE SENT ALL OVER THE WORLD.

Because of the great success of the 1998 tournament with over 800 competitors and over 12 Countries participating, from BRAZIL, CANADA, USA, MEXICO, VENEZUELA, PUERTO RICO, HONDURAS, PANAMA, GREAT BRITAIN, SPAIN, ARGENTINA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, AND INDIA; we are anticipating an even larger event and we are adding various Kata and Kumite Divisions.

We are inviting various teams from Latin American countries, Canada, Japan, European countries as well as Hawaii and various teams throughout the United States.

This year, again, many Great Masters will honor our tournament by giving seminars on Saturday, JUNE 12 and demonstrations on Sunday, JUNE 13 1999. This year Mr. Martinez will personally give a seminar and will teach "HEIKU" and "PAIKU". Scheduled seminars include the following:

• Sensei Kiyoshi Yamazaki - Japan Karate-Do Ryobu-kai (7th dan)
• Sensei Fumio Demura - Japan Karate-Do Itosu-Kai (7th dan)
• Sensei Kunio Miyaki - Japan Karate-Do Shuko-Kai (7th dan)
• Sensei Yoshiaki Ajari - Japan Karate-Do Wado-Ryu (7th dan)
• Sensei Julio Martinez - Japan Karate-Do Hayashi-Ha Shito-Ryu Kai (6th Dan)
• Sensei James Tawatao - Las Vegas Shotokan
• Sensei David Crockett - Pan American Referee & USANKF Referee examiner.

Many Honored Guest have already confirmed their attendance. Many National and International Instructors will be invited through out the year. We urge instructors to send their students applications before the Pre-Registration deadline May 20th, 1999.

We of Japan Karate-Do Hayashi-Ha Shito-Ryu kai of San Diego are striving to organize the best traditional karate tournament and demonstrations of all times. We are currently looking for major corporate sponsorship.

We hope that you will schedule ahead of time, so that you and your family will be here when we make history. All Karate magazines will be invited to support the event.
