Promoters Association of Traditional Martial Arts

PATMA is a great idea whose time has come! This organization brings together tournament organizers united by a common vision. PATMA tournaments will implement a 4 star cumulative point system that will select competitors from over 30 divisions to receive PATMA's annual "Athlete of the Year" awards. The recipients of these prestigious awards will receive a championship jacket, certificates of achievement and a cash award. PATMA will also select instructor/coach of the year and outstanding Dojo of the year. All awards winners will be recognized at PATMA's 1st Annual Awards Banquet to be held January, 2000.

WHY IS PATMA A GOOD IDEA?

  • Use WKF rules at all events.
  • Provide press releases on local, regional and national competition results for PATMA members.
  • Support regional and national karate governing bodies
  • Annual recognition and awards for PATMA members.
  • Enhance public awareness of traditional karate/kobudo competition.
  • Seek corporate sponsorship for athletes.
  • seek local and national media coverage of PATMA events.
  • Standardize awards and recognition at all PATMA events.

* 5 points will be awarded for tournament participation
