Grandmaster Hironori Otsuka, a disciple of shotokan karate founder Gichin Funakoshi,
founded wado-ryu (way of peace) karate when he was head instructor for shindo yoshin
ryu jujitsu. Before Otsuka died, the emperor of Japan awarded him the title "Meijin"
the highest honor possible for a martial artist.
This beautiful two-part video series is a spectacular tribute to the Wado Ryu style
of karate and it's founder, Hironori Otsuka.
Produced to the highest possible standards, it's crammed with technical and historical
information, much of which has never been previously revealed.
Both videos feature spectacular footage of the founder of Wado Ryu karate performing
kata and kihon kumite with author, Yoshiaki Ajari.
Professionally filmed at Berkley University in 1965, and then transferred recently
to video tape using the latest technology, this is without a doubt the best visual
record of Hironori Otuska's karate.
